Hi everyone, Ive been lurking here for a while, and now my project is in the development stage i have a few questions that im not so sure about. my niche is fishing, (long time fisher) and im putting a portal site together, planning on 1000's of pages and a few funky (not seen before) functions. my questions are: 1) As im working on this full time (70+ hours a week) can i realistically earn a decent wage from just uk traffic (im in uk) or do i need to go global ? 2) do i automatically get a back link from google (a high PR backlink) by creating a satalite map with fishing marks and links to my site on it ? 3) part of my site will be dedicted to books, is amazon the best affiliate for this ? 4) would i be penalised for using wikipedia and wikimedia commons for parts of my encyclopedia section ? or are there any reasons why i shouldnt ? 5) If i buy an expired, high PR domain, how long does the domain retain its PR while its inactive ? as i understand the expiration process takes some time to complete. Thanks in advance for your help, Tommy
this is quite possible but there are no guarantees. You might hit a goldmine and make thousands a day or you might keep on struggling to make 100 a month. there is no such thing as an automatic high PR back link. you have to work hard for getting those. it depends. you will have to experiment and try different affiliate networks. this is called duplicate content and you will not get those pages ranked high and, as a result, they would not be bringing any organic traffic. It depends. Make sure that the PR is valid before you buy a high PR domain. I have domains that retained their PR and I had domains that lost their PR within a couple of month after I bought them. Good luck.
