I am just starting out creating blogs and trying to cash in on them, even it just supplements my primary income from my day job. I know it is a slow process and a huge learning curve but I am just wondering for those who run multiple sites but also have kids, job, wife etc... How do you budget your time? I mean right now I have a site and a half going and it is consuming me, my plan is about 4 or 5 blogs going at once... People with family and work obligations, how do you do it? Just curious really? I don't plan on stopping, I am just interested to hear others experiences who are now seasoned bloggers and making a reasonable amount of money....
your firstly create blogs then try to get some good pr for them and in the end just sit and watch the moneys. How you can make money : Selling Banners , Links , Posts . its a good job.
I passionately hate that nagging feeling that I should be "updating my blog". I've moved away from making sites that require me to add content daily (or even weekly/monthly). I still use WP to power a lot of my sites, but I take the time to write GOOD content/posts in advance, before the site goes live. Then I present it to the world as a STATIC site full of *incredibly useful and essential* content. With no post dates, no comment features, etc etc. To the general public, it's just a website, not a blog. At the most I'll have a Twitter feed or random image (or something equally mundane) to make the front page appear "fresh" to return visitors. And I've given up on any niche that requires me to pay attention to what's going on in the world (gadgets news, technology, gaming, etc). I'm doing everything I can to make my websites quietly tick along all by themselves.
