1. Frames? Stay away from frames. Learn XHTML and CSS. There's a wealth of info on these subjects, just Google it. 2. Start out with a storyboard for each page. If you need ideas/inspiration, take a look at some websites that you enjoy, or browse some magazines. Focus on the layout, colors, fonts, etc. 3. 1. If you plan on making sites yourself, you will need some server side processing at some point. PHP and MySQL is a good place to start, and as the above poster said - get to grips with XHTML and CSS. Or, put aside some money to outsource your requirements. 2. Plan the site's functionalities in terms of the user experience. Write out what the user needs to do, and then decide exactly how your site will accomplish this need for the user. You may want to look at competing sites for ideas (but don't just blatantly copy them...), or conduct surveys amongst your target market (For example, I was recently working on a poker related site, so a partner of mine ran a poll in 3 or 4 of the largest online poker forums). 3.
