I currently have a Wordpress based website and have implemented the Yoast SEO plugin for it. I publish new posts daily, so I use it for all of them to obviously better the on-page SEO. With that said, I have noticed something that bothered me. First, I use the "excerpt" section of my backend to install my opening paragraph for each new post rather than inserting the opener in the actual body. I do this for format reasons (page gets messed up when I enter it in the main body area). I realized that Yoast does not pick up this paragraph, but will the search engines?
There was another question about Yoasts WP thing of a similar regard recently I thought a little strange in regard to another aspect of it's bahaviour and as Yoast is a member here I had rather hoped to see Yoasts answer but alas he must have missed it. Now I don't use that plugin and so can't really comment on it, but if the words are in your source code that Googlebot can access and read then it will be seeing those words, but as for what effect this will have, it is hard to say, as I can't see what you mean. PM me the link and elaborate a little and I will take a look and see what I can tell you further.
