Then get a Mac. The Apple laptops are the highest quality hardware on the market. Plus you don't have to deal with all of these configuration issues and wonder about performance of the OS. It just works, and works well. My entire company switched to Macs and we couldn't be happier. No more maintenance issues and productivity is way up.
Here is the deal, If you plan on running Windows Vista make sure your PC has powerful specs., otherwise it will run very slow. Personally I tried Windows Vista on my old Desktop and had to switch back to Win. Xp due to the relative slowdown I was experiencing. I recommend you have at least 1 GB ram and a Nvidia 6400/Ati 9700 min. graphics card if you want to run the new Aero interface. The answer to your third question is: No you will not face any problems if your friends have Win. XP and you have Vista, they are both compatible so don't worry about that. If you already have Windows XP installed I would keep it until Microsoft comes out with Vista SP1 and fixes the problems most users are currently facing. Good luck.
Hmmmmmmmmm thats interesting i never thought about Mac before. i better go and find more information about both systems before i buy one. thanks man for your advice.
Thank you very much for your detailed answer. actually you are right, beside after what other people said i think if you want Vista then you have to have a high specs otherwise stick with your old system. thanks alot
Hy, i am using vista at 512 RAM and it's run perfectly though i don't get the AERO or 3D facilities. If you use 2GB RAM than you can even play a 3D game also with more reliable speed . And most important thing is than it is most compatible with all the older version of windowd like xp,98 etc, and is functionality is as similar as the windows xp. If you know the xp very well than no problem with vista you buy and enjoy.thanks
Vista is just too expensive... I'll stick with XP until some games come out that really require Vista.
It is possible, but Aero actually make your system faster. The reason is because Aero uses your GPU to render the screen, in my case a crappy integrated GeForce 6100. Previous versions of Windows, as well as the Vista Basic interface use the CPU to render your screen. The reason why Aero has so much eye candy, animation, translucency, and shadowing is because it's nothing to a video card, even my integrated graphics render it with ease. This means my graphics card is working on graphics, and my CPU is working on other things, which is how it should be.
Aero DOES NOT slow down your system. If your system supports Aero, do NOT turn it off thinking that you'll make things faster. It's completely the contratry.
