Questions about server, hosting & website

I think i can get the answer here.

I want to know that can big sites like example: DP, blogspot or facebook hosted on a shared hosting? Or we have to buy a really great server and host it ourselves?

EDIT: Can shared hosting support such a big site?

Offccourse host it on own server.. most of the big sites have more than 1 server

 

Blogspot is probably into a big machine by google.. same as facebook.. DP? Don't know..

impossible... Well frankly speaking Big sites earn big so doesnt matter them much

 

No sir, they are way beyond sharing a server with other sites. Some heavy duty dedicated solutions.

 

So is there other hosting package that can support such site? something called dedicated hosting?

If you have site with over 5k uniques daily and high load get ready to buy Server, or at least good VPS

And no there isn't such an ''package'' you have to lease your own servers for this kind of stuff, your $1month hosting wont going to allow to do this!

Even the big site just contain texts like DP (without hosting image) , we can't use shared hosting? What the alternatives beside buying a server? I need more info =x

Okay i search thru dedicated hosting & VPS package on the web.

They cost a lot compared to shared hosting and i know that. But regarding the specs of the server like:
- 500 GB monthly bandwidth
- 25 GB disk space
- 1024 MB ram

is that sufficient?
