I have my own website but have never been able to place top 10 in the search engines. I have read about SEO and even tried to optimize to achieve better positioning without any results. Can anyone point me to the right direction? I really don't know what I am doing wrong. I am not a professional developer, I am self taught, but have been writing html for years. Any help will be greatly appreciated..
Did you try linking? Having a well optimized site, is not the main factor in google for quiet a long time it's still importent and all but it's more importent to have a strong link base Start it slow, list your site in those free directeroies, dign up in like a dozen a week, don't over do it publish article linking to your site on all kind of eZines and wait for the next google PR update, to watch your PR and SERP grow tnx to your new links
It might be bec your site is still "young". If it is less than 4 - 6 months old, this might be the reason. But as NirMorgo said, start building links..
How long has your site been 'live' and have you tried to gain inbound links to your site? The tougher your keyword competition, the harder it is to rank for your site..
Longevity, quantity of links, quality of links, articles, directories, content on your site, etc.... Getting the "whole package" together is what it takes to get you on top for competitive keyword phrases. IMHO There are a number of posts from very knowledgeable persons here on DP. Perform some searches here to learn more.
Try to get some real quality backlinks to your site and Orginal content will put u up on the 1st page. Does that sound simple
You should start with on-page? Are you sure you implemented this one? like attaching your target KW on the title tag, use of header tags, img attribute and so on. After doing this you may proceed to link building, using your target KW as an anchor. The combination of these two can both bring you a good serp and a good traffic from both SE and referring site
Basically, do first the on-page optimization before you proceed promoting and building links on your site....
I would focus on content, keywords, and items like that. One tip is to start your first paragraph with your keyword or phrase, also make it bold, actually i would bold all occurrences of the keywords. Thats another thing, your keywords should be present many times in your content. Another is to Make the title of the page, your keyword or phrase, not the name of the business. Age doesn't matter, i have a site less than 6 months old thats been ranked number 3 on the first page, for the key phrase, "affordable graphic design" for the last 4 months
work on with the site's on-page and off-page factors if you really want to achieve a good SERPs position
just focus on On-page: proper use of unique title tags, header tags, alt tags and having informative and updated content and continuous link building..
Hi, I am getting you very well. There’re so many factors: on page: keyword in title, link text, in bold, link text from back links, size of your site, frequency of updating your site.. Or Have a look at Organic Search Engine Optimization that for some more tips. The main thing is that seems to work is getting you to top from other sites to help you rank well. Thanks!!
Onpage (especially unique contents) then backlinks, backlinks, backlinks.. especially quality links...
SEO just aint about links - In my opinion garnering links is the easiest thing in SEO. It is first of all essential to make sure that you have your target niches/keywords set right and secondly to make sure that your site is being properly indexed and categorized by bots to move onto link building. SEO is also slowly evolving towards a new pattern where it is becoming more important to aggregate and less important to "buy or garner links"
