Questions about PDF files on google and other search engines

    Does Goolge now how to read PDF file ? If so does it index them ? How about backlinks from PDF files ?

    I have no idea what with backlinks from pdf files, but - ofcourse - they are indexed.

    how about, can search engines spiders read the text?

    This is a n00b response so please correct me if I am wrong.

    When a spider searches, its mostly text based. It will not open flash files to read them. Same thing with PDF files. the spider is a simple text searcher.

    I have a suggestion to fix this, but prefer not to make it public.
