Hi Everybody! I am a software developer and now I am trying to improve my sites rank for some keywords that are relevant to my software, and I want to avoid common mistakes. I read a lot of marketing stuff, and I think I got the basics of keyword research and building backlinks, but I lack practical experience. So: 1. I also looked through 30dc, and it seemed good to me, I saw 'traffic bug' tool is not highly appreciated. So, what automatic software should I use instead? There is 'The Link Juicer' ($47 per month); its algorithm is clear and transparent. There is also LinkVana, which is rather expensive and I feel I am not experienced enough for the service. there is also 1waylinks.net. I'd like to get some advise on the above websites or maybe some of you can recommend better services. 2. What do you think at all about 30dc? Is that a correct approach to create a blog with the main keywords in the domain name, post there an article each 2-4 days and try to promote such a 'satellite blog'? I am promoting my own software, so I will not add copywrited articles there. I will try to post only real-life articles that help people understand advantages of my software. Actually I aim to sell my software only those who really need it! 3. What about sites for submitting articles? Like 'contentcrooner.com' or 'distributeyourarticles.com'. What do you think about them? 4. Do you use market (noble) samurai? In my opinion, it is the only useful software from 30dc, but I could be wrong, and it is also a kind of 'cheat' (as the traffic bug seems to be)? 5. Are there other important things I need to know? What other materials and services could you recommend? 6. And I wonder if the word form and the words order matter? E.g. are 'cat' and 'cats'/'run' and 'running' the same or different for search engines? Thank you in advance, Best Regards, Vitaliy
This is what you need to concentrate on the most. You should find the keywords you want to rank for and optomize your pages for those keywords. Normally you find your keywords first and then build a site around those. Believe it or not, the good old fashioned method of adding new content to your site on a regular basis and building backlinks (especially to your inner pages) is the best way to improve your standings with google. I'm not that familiar with the 30dc. If it is the daily challenge thing, I did look at it a few years ago when it first came out and was not impressed with it then and am not interested in it now. Posting copywrited articles on your site to add content won't hurt, especially if you add an opening introduction written in your own words. I'm not for the 'satellite blog'. Why not add the blog to your domain and use this as your means of adding new fresh content on a regular basis? There is so much crap out there about Link Wheels, linking 2.0 strategies etc that it is impossible to know or determine which is the best and what works and what doesn't. A blog on your domain will always work. Once you get that established, then you could look into going out to Squidoo or whatever and link to your blog. You blog will target your sales page/site. Article submitters? I don't use them since I only distribute to 10 or 15 sites. Not worth the money in my case. Samurai? I don't know why you would need anything like that since you already have your product. I know it does stuff besides keywords, but in your case I can't see where it would be of much help unless you are wanting to find a new niche. Maybe someone who uses it can jump in and give you better suggestions. 5. Are there other important things I need to know? What other materials and services could you recommend? Man, you better get this concept down first before you do anything else. You bet they are different. Hope this helps. Vitaliy[/QUOTE]
