Questions about getting started with ClickBank

I am just starting with clickbank. I am not creating a product to sell on clickbank, I am working to earn commissions on stuff in their marketplace.

    my questions are....

Is it worthwhile to use adwords to directly send people to a product?

If using adwords, what is the most one would want to pay for a click?

Would you use search network, content network or both?

Would you send them directly to the hoplink or to a custom landing page first?

Are there any suggested lines of products or categories to start off with as a beginner?

    (PM responses are welcome)

    THANKS!!!

I would use landing page. The lower per click the better.

Does the quality of the landing page affect your CPC in adwords?

Eww, if you're asking that question you better start reading up on quality score. On the content network, not so much, on search, definitely.

On the beginning I like to send traffic directly. The cost per click may be higher than for your own landing page due to google double serving rule (google for it).

But the benefit is that you get to see pretty fast if the product sells and if you have the right keywords.

I had luck with products with gravity higher than 40, in most niches.

It does not matter how much you pay per click, as long as the numbers work and you earn more than you pay. For some keywords I pay $1.00, but they are profitable, while some cheap keywords aren't. Of course, there is no guarantee that an expensive keyword is profitable.

Also, if you are looking for a way to see which of your keywords convert while you are testing the water, have a look at my sig.

I tried some direct linking and ended up getting the ads rejected and an email from google.

    Ad Issue(s): Unacceptable Content

Content: At this time, Google policy does not permit the advertisement of websites that contain template site.
