Hi all, I would like to know a few things about footer links, my objective is to get backlinks that the search engines will recognize and give me credit for? 1. Is a footer link used mainly for backlinks or for some other reason? 2. If I want a gambling related footer link and get one in a non-gambling directory/blog, is this look for trouble? 3. Is there anything wrong with sitewide footer links in a directory? 4. If the directory has 100 indexed pages will I get 100 backlinks if I purchase a sitewide? 5. Is a sitewide directory better than a sitewide blog? 6. Is there a more cost effective way to get lots of backlinks?
Footer links are generally considered lower-quality. One of the reasons is they come from a specific position on a page, while natural links appear on different places within a page, with good context surrounding them. So getting a ton of footer links is not something I would make my link building objective. Warkot
Depends, footer links are not as powerful as singular text links on a homepage. However, they are still useful and can help get a new site indexed quickly.
but they can not get your sites in good position powerfully, if you can put your link at home page, it will be wonderful.
Thanks for the responses so far. I now have the following questions: 1. Are text link adds (text-link-ads.com) the same as foot links? 2. What would be the most cost effective (bang for buck) with $30/month to spend? a. footer links b. text link adds (from text-link-ads.com) c. Other type of links (please specify)
Text-Link-Ads.com offers footer links and homepage links, you'll just have to look through their inventory to know what your buying. As for a budget of $30 per month, I'd look through these forums for link sales. There is always good deals here to be found, with high PR traffic, etc.. and you would probably get more bang for your buck if you went direct with someone here at the forum. Text-Link-Ads.com takes half of hte purchase price...so it cuts down on how much you actually get for your dollar. Hope this helps.
