Questions About CJ

    Hello

I've been looking at affiliate programs for a little while now, and have decided that CJ could be right for me. Per day, my site has moved up from about 800 to 1,500 unique visitors daily over the past month and I'm ready to start earning good money. My questions are....

    1. CJ or Adsense? Which makes more?
    2. CPA... What exactly does that mean (I know it's per action, but is an action a registration, or a sale.. .what is it?)
    3. How much is your CPM typically?
    4. If you could, share some stats you have had with CJ.
    5. How has your overall experience been with CJ?

    Thanks to all who respond!

    Thanks,

First off, you have some nice traffic!! That should be plenty, as long as you monetize it properly.

1: I would use both. For me, Google Ads give me that daily earnings that aren't much but add up at the end of the month to at least cover the cost of the site....maybe more.

CJ could make you over and above if you are accepted to the right programs and your visitors are interested in those kind of products. It will be up to you to figure out the best way to present that information (links/banners...ect) so you get clicks and hopefully get commissions. It's all about testing...see what services/products work and which ones don't and go from there.

2:CPA depends on the program. Some its a "free signup" or some kind of "action" others its an actual "sale" or purchase by the consumer. It all depends on the program and the product. Some programs (like yahoo) have both, others like FansEdge only have commissions on sales, it just depends. Figure out what your traffic is interested in and go from there. All the details of the program can be found in the terms of the agreement.

3: I know I'm saying this a lot, but CPM depends too. If you have a lot of traffic but only 1% are actually interacting with your affiliate programs your CPM might be very low. However I have a site that literally only gets about 30-50 uniques a day but has a very high CPM because close to 10% of the traffic will click on an add...buy something...ect. I probably don't worry about CPM as much as most people but it depends based on the type of website and traffic.

4: When I was doing it full time, I was making about as much as an entry level job will make you..not much, but not bad either. It wasn't all with CJ either, there are a lot of networks (and programs) to choose from, its all about finding the ones that your traffic interacts with the best.

5: I've had no problems with CJ. Never had a transaction reversal, always paid on time...ect. I've mainly used "larger" programs, so I cannot speak for some of the smaller programs on CJ....you have to be careful, but I don't have a bad thing to say about my experience. The 3-4 times I've contacted support with a question, I get a response within 24 hours.

I tell everyone this, be patient. It's all about experimenting and seeing what works. With your traffic you should be able to test a page/links for only a short amount of time to see if they work. Once you find something that works, just focus on making it better.

    Good Luck, hope this helps.
