Questions About Buying Domains Similar to Well-Known Companies

    I'm curious...what are the ballpark figures as to how much money can one make by buying a domain that is spelled similar to the company the user is probably searching for?

    And how does one go about figuring out whether it's worth the money to buy the domain? Do you go by PageRank or get an estimate on traffic using 3rd party tools?
