Hi, I have been running in the ejaculation niche as an affiliate and made a nice amount of money with barely any effort (I make minisites on nicro niche keywrods - great when you know how, minimum effort - decent money) and I have decided to go into the niche myself. I do know basic webdesign when it comes to ecommerce and mini websites, but I have no idea on sales pages or ebook covers. So... Could you point me to what makes a sales page good in terms of design, and where are some free templates I could lookat/use/modify (both sales pages and ebook covers). Secondly, do you think moving from affiliate to vendor in the same niche is a wise idea? Thirdly, do you like the long salepages which are like 6k words or the shorter 2k ones? And also do you prefer sales pages to have those fake testimonies or not? I already created my prototype and affiliate area, has the keywords, 4 articles to rewrite and a review article as well as some advice and links to figure out how to find good, low comp keywords yourself. The ebooks currently being wrote (I'm getting it wrote for me using the core ebook I wrote). So I have 3 days odd to get the site up for when the books done. And then the last questions are: Should I work on getting sales myself for a while to build up before I look for affilaites or do both together? And finally, should I be giving free copies out to potential affilaites? I have heard that some people steal your ebook and post it as their own (no idea how it happens but that what a vendor told me)? As a comprimise could I just make like a demo ebook? Containing what each section is about rather than giving the actual ebook? Thank you for letting me bounce my ideas and questions off you
Don't get too much caught into the design. You could use a basic layout, you could do something like the following page: http://www.natural-cure-for-yeast-infection.com Use the same web page layout, just put some kind of banner on the top. The example above is overly-simplified, so I'd only suggest a banner at the top. It doesn't need to be overly fancy. Design can be sometimes important, but you generally don't need to spend too much time on it, just use a generic layout like the one I specified, so that your site looks professional. Your site needs to look decent at least. The key point here is the sales letter, the sales letter is what sells the product, the most crucial part of the sales page. You need to do some reading about copywriting, and how to write proper sales letter. The sales letter is where most of your focus needs to be.
Definitely agree with Ripped - if you are making a 1 page site then look at your competition on clickbank - see what they are doing, the way they write, the length of the pages and take elements and features you like and try and make yours better. I don't mean to outright copy them, but just see what the standard is and what seems to be working / the successful vendors are doing.. You could ask people on here all day how long your page should be but everyone has personal preferences and opinions on how long a page should be, ultimately that is probably your job to do both, split test them and keep / further develop the winner.
Unless you are good at writing copy yourself, hire a copywriter. It will pay for itself times over. Sometimes the buyer wants to see a cover, and other products do better with no cover. It depends. Is this YOUR product, or one you copied? I think the shorter is better. You can loose people if they are too long. Fake testimonials are against the law. That is a good idea. This is how you can get potential affiliates attention. You are welcome. I also suggest you use a spell check since you are having some difficulty.
In regards to the length of the sales page: I think shorter is better. You should be able to own your audience and actually want them purchasing it in a short amount of time. Not feeling questionable about it and doing it on a whim just because they just got done reading a multi-page sales page.
Cheers for the help I got some reviews done of my sales page and totally revamped the whole thing into a mini website style which I am more comfortable with. Sorry for my bad grammar during my first post it was both rushed and done running only on expresso's.. The product is my own, after spending a year making websites giving small tips and then directing the user to a link to the product for more information you pick up too many things... Started to find myself doing the breathing tecniques now myself without realising it till it was pointed put (lol?)... Anyway, im now working on the affil section and I'm thinking that I will have 10 articles that they can spin. However, should these articles be fresh ones or should I make the articles, submit them to the major article sites and then use them as PLR material for the masses? If the latter then I could give as many as 30 articles. I already have the keywords as well as suggestions on how to find more niche (long tailed) keywords with links to sites to use... I also plan on making a demo ebook that can be used as part of a giveaway (pop your own clickbank id in the links). Anything else I should be putting in the section? I was thinking banner ads, but I have never seen them used... Thanks again for the info and tripple the thanks to the ppl that pm'ed me/or that i pm'ed who gave me some reviews
