Hi Over the last couple of years I have dabbled with using articles to help get backlinks for my site. I seem to now be reading conflicting information with regards to how to go about this. I currently am a member of 3 article directories that I use http://www.ezinearticles.com http://www.buzzle.com http://www.articledashboard.com Within these there are 30 odd articles I have written. Each article is unique to this directory and not replicated. So my questions are: Should each of my articles be in each directory or will they count as duplicate content? Which is the best article directories to submit to for the best backlink power. Am I right in thinking that one article written should give you one decent backlink - the more popular the article is the higher it will appear in the given directory so the better the backlink? If I were to start spinning my articles can anyone advise on a decent spinner (not one that produces garbage - I care about my articles) Am I missing anything on how I am going about this? Thanks a lot for anyones time
The article can be distributed to many different article directories before it's actually considered duplicate content. I'm not sure which article directories are the best to submit to, I use an article submission service to submit my articles to many different directories. I use submit your article this service will give you the opportunity to create a few different versions of your article before they manually submit it. I'm very happy with the results I've had thus far and I would recommend this service.
So would you consider article marketing on its own a good way of getting to the top of the serps or is it just a small part of the bigger picture? Thanks
Don't waste your time with article directories... they steal your content (well actually you give it to them free) and always rank better for your keywords than you will ever do. Stop making these companies money at your expense.. There are much better ways to get links. And the only place the link will count and article will rank are on these sites. Links on duplicate content get devalued in my opinion. A better way to do this is to post in Wordpress.Com, expose your rss feed, and wait for the spammers to spread your article for free. People complain about spammers stealing content via rss feed but in reality it just makes the source article (the wordpress blog you own) more powerful. Let the wannabe blackhats push you up the rankings for you.
interesting - How would you suggest exposing the rss feed more? - I have a feedburner account but that's as much as I know and I assume this way you must ensure that links are embedded within the content of the article? I'm looking for new link building techniques
I meant use a blog ON WORDPRESS.COM.. then use your tags to get listed on various popular tags in your niche. Spammers use the TAG RSS Feed on this site and sites like this to "STEAL" content.. BUT, all it helps is the original poster (your wordpress blog)..
