What is your oppinion about article directories? Do they attract many visitors? How many per day? How do article directories make money? AdSense mostly? Other ways?
Depends, if you have thousands of articles indexed then yes you'll probably pull in a good amount of search engine traffic... if your'e just starting up w/ no articles you're not going to get any traffic. They make money off ads, haven't seen any article directories charging for submission.
I'm getting about 300 articles added daily, I just started the directory about five days ago ( directory.proud-collector.com - barely indexed yet) and I have over 2,700 so far. I put the articles in multiple relevant categories which takes alot of time so that most of the articles aren't categorized yet and only available through the search feature. I don't know how unique this is, but my directory lists the articles next to the websites so that traffic might spill over to the websites listed. If that works I could use testimonials to boost sign up.
Most of the content on article directories is duplicate content and only those which are seriously optimized will attract visitors. Do not make one, unless you are going to give it a sincere effort.
There is so many article directories on the Web now that it will be very hard to get one started. There are so many duplicate articles on the Web now that you will most probably find it hard to get start. If you are very motivated and want to really build an articles directory and do all the work then you may get some traffic.
