I was just reading this thread here:
    http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=1484981

A person comes and asks a question to the community. The community responds with suggestions. And then a moderator comes and closes the thread saying:

"DP staff does not get involved in private member disputes. It's between you, the other member, and the payment processor or bank. Also, please note that if you want to leave negative feedback, it must be via iTrader or in the deal thread - not a new thread."

    1) DP staff wasn't asked to get involved in the dispute directly. It looks more like it is a question for all others who might have been in such a situation.
    2) And so, in the same way, a request for advice is not between the two members and the processor nor the bank. It IS between the members here.
    3) This wasn't a negative feedback thread about a member. At least not yet. (Plus there is another thread by the thread-closer where she states "iTrader's a joke".)

The best reason for this thread to be locked could have been that it didn't belong to "suggestions and feedback", because this place was meant to host dialogues between a member and staff, not between members themselves. This isn't openly stated so anywhere in the forum though.

We all know crossing tasks off a list feels great. I hope some moderators aren't setting themselves thread-closing goals or something.

Can we ask a moderator to give this other moderator an infraction point for "inappropriate post"?

    ...

    I thought so.

Suggestions & Feedback are for suggestions and feedback for this forum, not for suggestions or feedback between 2 members.

When staff addresses an issue, the thread is closed. As Shawn noted, this section of the forum is not for members to come and discuss their disputes with other members. Those posts belong only in iTrader comments or in the deal thread. Had that OP read the rules, they would have known the thread was inappropriate in the first place (and speaking of infractions, they could have gotten one for the thread). Inappropriate threads or those not fitting into the suggestions & feedback aspect of this section get moved or closed, depending on the situation.

I also strongly suggest you take some time to (re)read the rules before accusing anyone of questionable moderation. Then you would have known that disputes are private issues between members (not to mention you wouldn't have at least two 7-day ban worthy posts in just the last week). But to avoid being "questionable" I'm not even going to hit you with the ban for them.
