I've question on using PPC for CJ affiliate program. The problem here is if we get the html link from the cj it use something like tkqlhce.com and etc.. So how do you resolve it? Is it means that I have no choice to create my own landing page? Some more adwords not allowed we use redirect link.. Appreciate your idea and input. Thanks..
with cj and adwords you can link directly to the merchant via your affiliate link with no problems at all. you do not need your own landing page. but make sure that you read the advertisers link policy, some do NOT let you link directly in which case you do need a landing page. most will allow to you to direct link. just readup on the advertiser and you should be ok
Hi mcjp6, Appreciate your reply... my concern is that mean I've to use the their html link.. If you notice that the get html link for cj is like htt p://www.kqzyfj.com/click- bla-bla , or tkqlhce.com/click-bla bla.. So when create ads on adwords the display link should be kqzyfj.com or tkqlhce.com and those look terrible. And if not mistaken, in adwords, the display url must be the same with the actual destination page.. Then how I can use it? Pls somebody advice.. I'm new in adwords..
No, the display url (at least the domain itself) has to be where those CJ links eventually redirect to. So the link would be kqzyfj.com/xxxxxx... but the display has to be whatever page that takes u to (somestore.com).
Hi MrX, Thanks for reply. So its mean I can use that's way..? Then how about this guidelines from https://adwords.google.com/select/guidelines.html Sorry for my newbie question..
The display url has to be where the visitor finally ends up after any 302/301 redirects. They're not gonna end up at those crazy cj urls.
You will violate the guidelines if you use kqzyfj.com/xxxxxx as Display URL, as this is not the landing page URL. You must use a Display URL that matches the landing page (merchant URL), not the destination URL.
Google will remove your ad if you use a redirect page.. Try to make a selling page... or make a comment about a service and recommend the hosting, etc Best, Jakomo
All, Thanks for reply.. I think MrX and Micromag is correct after did a few more googling and found the answer at another forum.. The problem here is only if we use the merchant destination url.. google only will display one ad for affiliates and parent companies sharing the same Display URL per search query. So if our CTR is less than others competitor using the same dispaly url, than possibility for our ads to appear is less.. so I think if good if we do our landing page.. am I correct?? Thanks again..
You are correct there. First off, many CJ companies don't even allow you to use their domain as the display url (direct link to them). So you're forced to make a lander. Here's my tip for you, stay out of crowded niches. You'll lose your shirt in click costs without as many conversions if you don't know what you're doing.
As MrX mentioned, many CJ advertisers don't allow you to use their domain as your display URL. If you do use their URL & knock off their official search ad, don't be surprised if all your commissions get reversed - for some reasons, more & more affiliates have been trying this lately (and advertisers are reversing their commissions, meaning that the advertisers don't pay a single cent for the order that the affiliate sent to the advertiser).
Thanks again for confirmation.. Yes. I think we have no choice to create our own landing page.. but it should attractive enough for people to click on our affiliate link.. otherwise they will not landing and cache to our advertiser site.. so we'll lose the click value..
The best way is to come up with 2 or 3 designs for the page. Try each of them to see which gets the best click through rate to your aff link. Once you have the best converting one, then make two or three slight variations of that one, and so on...
