I'm currently building a TV show type website with a content gateway (CPALeads) and I've started to build link wheels to rank for keywords, but I only use 5 'spokes', this number is probably going to decrease soon to 3/4 depending on what I find out about certain websites I am using. Obvisouly ranking for harder keywords is going to require more link wheels for the same keyword, so I was thinking I could build a mega-link wheel, but I'd prefer to use the same websites. Would using for example, linking 100's of Wordpress.com blogs together in a random-way, which Google/Yahoo would NOT be able to figure out that they are linked, have any effects on my ranking? As all the backlinks would be from the same 3-5 core domains, would this effect anything? Or is just a backlink, is a backlink? Many thanks to whomever replies.
No, the problem with getting more than one backlink from sites like wordpress and blogspot is that after the first one, the benefit from additional backlinks from the same domain or IP are greatly diminished.
if they are all linked to each other in some fashion, then search engines will eventually find out. why not just build the pages and not link them all together? or link once in a while? just build the pages and get them indexed. this way you are 100% safe. also, dont just focus on number pf web 2.0 pages, focus on page quality. add content on those pages occationally and build some backlinks to those pages which will pass better link juice
How would Google, a multi-billion $$ company employing genius unioversity maths graduates not be able to work out that you spent a few hours linkin spam sites together? just wondering what you are doing that is going to outwit all those highly paid geniuses?
