question regarding table-free layout

    I'm looking to create a simple layout for a site similar to the default PHPnuke skin. I want a central content panel and a background of solid colour. Any simple examples on how to do this?

    Your best bet would be to search Google for 'tableless design css' (without the quotes). There will be a number of sites with examples and sample code.

    Tried that, I can't figure out how to get the central content panel to appear upon a background. Maybe i'm not explaining this well.

    If you look at the default phpnuke skin the content appears upon a blue background in a central panel. Unfortunately I was unable to extract the specific CSS that does this from the skin.
