Hi, I have a PayPal account in my Mother's name, verified and everything with a balance of about $400 from various sales and such I opened a student bank account with Bank of America for myself, setup with online banking and all. There is no bank account added to the PayPal account, if I were to add my own and attempt to withdraw the $400, would there be any complications due to the bank account being in my name and the PayPal in my Mothers? Every bit of information is exactly the same, address, phone, etc... just not the first name. Regards
Yes you will face the problem. You need to change your paypal account name. Just see this thread http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=966788 Hope this will help.
Thanks for that, That is a bit extensive procedure - Would I still have to go through all that even if I just want to change the first name of the account? I will test it later today, Thanks for the post again, useful information
If your mum and you share the same name then it should not be a problem. When your transaction get rejected, just be prepared to pay the fees.
Basically, why not just use your mum's bank account and withdraw to there. At least this way, everything would be above board and you are not doing anything fishy which may cause your account to be flagged as fraud.
You can have a check mailed to you if you want, cash it with your Mom and deposit it into your account.
