I am trying to rank high in Google for specific keyword. I dont know how deep Google looks into a website for keywords and repetition. Example I have a site that sells wrist watches. I have optimized my front page for the search term "wrist watch" and "wrist watches." Do I need to add wrist watch to the title of every item I sell to boost the ranking for the front page? How much weight does google gives to the keywords within the website. I am using Mysql Database for our products. Thanks for advice and pointers.
It's still best practice and aids users to have the keyword match the product name. I used to pay a lot of attention to variations of plural vs. singular, not so much anymore and Google's semantics is much more accurate. If all the items you see is a wrist watch you could add that to the title, but I'd focus more on the differentiation of the deeper pages titles. Don't forget image (alt) optimization, I know the SEOMoz folks now rank that higher for on page importance than headers (h1, h2, etc.). Aim for the tail / longer iterations for your targeting. Get links to your main page and distribution hub pages that pass rank to your product pages.
to rank number one, u must have low competition keyword which u can beat them and the most important thing is ur site page must be seo friendly and relavance to each other. then google will give u a good value and rank rally well.
Hi there: Do you mean to tell me that singular and plural keywords don't matter much now with Google? Because that would be a great help really!
