Hi, just a quick question. On the link sales forums. I am selling links on two different sites, can this be in two different threads or am I only allowed one thread? if this is the case, As I cannot edit an existing thread when it has expired I assume then I can then add a new thread? Thanks
You may not duplicate a thread that has expired. If you sell links on mysite dot com monthly you may only make one thread on which to sell links. You may use your signature to advertise you re selling links on mysite dot com. When you first set up your link sales thread you have the option of making one thread or two. If you posted links sales for mysite dot com and your site dot com in the same thread you may not not change and sell links of a single site for that would be duplicating previous offer.
ok that sort of makes sense but... If a thread has expired can you then renew it? And how can you edit a thread if you want to change things about it?
YOu can not renew a thread nor can you edit a thread after your eight hour limit. Plan you post carefully before actually posting.
Sometimes deals can change, so whilst we did plan our thread before posting would this be a valid excuse? An example: I post a thread saying im selling links on mysitedotcom which is PR 1 and $20 a month, then 2 months pass and the thread is now invalid and mysitedotcom now has a PR of 7 thus obviously id like to sell the links for more then $20 a month, but I cannot edit the thread nor can I bump it. Would I then be able to bump the thread? My major concern with the scenario posted above is if DP members find the outdated thread where the link is $20 a month for the PR 1 site and they PM the user asking to buy the link and the user says they want more then $20 (obviously) then it defeats the purpose of the marketplace, which in end results in the quality of DP's marketplace getting quite poor due to misinformed users through old threads.
The tread wont go away, but it can be closed. If you change the price or terms, of course, you can open a new sales thread, but doing so just to gain position will get you caught up in a debate...
