When there is a web-site with text content and 'creative commons licence' (allowance to use each text with acknowledgement to the author), does it mean you can use it all (texts)? I hope the question makes logic!? There is a writer with sports web-site with 'creative commons licence' on sidebars of pages where texts are, I appreciate texts for being lengthy and in-depth analyses, I'd like to put them in a sports forum under the terms of creative commons licence, but that would be as if copying the entire content of one person's web-site which feels a bit odd.
Common Creative License is a very general term. There are actually several variants. Take a closer look at what the various licenses imply at http://creativecommons.org/about/licenses It's the non-commercial clause that might cause you headaches. If for example, you plan on having AdSense on the same page with the copied material, it might be argued that you are using the text for commercial purposes and thus you are breaking the terms of the license. But again, you must see exactly what sort of license the website you mentioned uses. Hope this helps. Best regards, George
I went through ccl web-site as soon as I saw 'creative commons licence' aside the texts. I was not aware of 'Adsense' and such, I don't have it in Forum nor plan to have. If everything is well, does it mean one can copy the entire content of a web-site under ccl? It feels odd to do so, though 'creative commons licence' is next to each text allowing you. With EzineArticles.com there is a 25 articles per year maximum allowance, I have not seen such note in ccl nor at the author's web-site.
