I can purchae a link to a pr9 site which is not related to my site for 1k for the year. My site is a new mortgage related site that presently has a page rank of zero, although I have submitted to 30+ directories and hope for a bounce with the next update.... Need some guidance here.. THANKS
$1000/yr is a pretty good price for a pr 9 link as long as there aren't too many other links on the page and it is a direct link without the nofollow attribute. The first thing I do with links like this is to check to make sure it is a real pagerank at http://www.seologs.com/pr-check/pagerank.html. Then I would check it in the wayback machine and whois record to see if it recently changed hands which could lead to a loss of backlinks which make it a pr 9 site. You can pm me the site and I can check it out. I'm in a similar situation myself.
not sure of my 'expert' status, but i'd look at theming and other things besides it being just a PR9. lots of other links on the page? where will the link appear? etc.
