Question Regarding Blog Posts

My blog posts were coming up as #1 and #2 for many of my posts keywords. Recently I changed the title of my blog and the posts do not come up anymore. Can someone please offer me advice as to how to fix this mess? Will the posts come back with time, or is this a permanent problem?

    Thanks for the help

Do you use your Blogs title also in the title of each post? When you say changed the title do you mean that you just changed the name or your blog or the actual URL?

As far as I see, there are three possible explanations.

One - your earlier blog title had some valuable keywords you needed to get into the top, but now you don't have them.

Two - your current blog title is relatively longer than the last one. This decreases the keyword density of your target keywords within the title, therefore, making you lose your rank.

Three - Google weighs the relevancy and the importance of a link by the anchor text (the link text) it has. When you changed the name of your blog from X to Y, all the links saying that it's pointing to the site X might be questionable since your new name is Y.

Changing the name of the blog is a pretty risky thing if you're relying heavily on the Search Engine traffic. If you need more help with it, just drop me a PM or hit me up with IM.

    Cheers!

I simply changed "how to earn money online" to "how i earn money online" which now seems very stupid. What do you think the ramifications will be?

Well, do a keyword search on it and see... You'll find that people search for the term "how to earn money online" more than the term "how i earn money online". Therefore, you will surely lose your rank for the term which gives you more traffic.

Changing it to the original title would be the quickest way to get your rank back.

I agree, change it back asap, although it may take a while before you get your rankings back.
