Question regarding approving ads and payment

Discussion in 'Digital Point Ads' started by vinith98, Aug 2, 2012.

    Hello,

I have got a notification that I have new pending advertisements to be reviewed. I have not completely understood how this works and so I need your help. This is for a publisher account.

I have taken the CPM option with a bid of $1.

Once I approve the ad, how will advertiser pay and for what period ?

    Regards,
    Vinith Almeida

They pay via PayPal and the period isn't for a set period since it's a bidding system and they can choose how much of their funding they want to spend per day.

They've set the daily budget to $2, does this mean they will pay on a daily basis ?

No, it's prepay. They can't run ads until they have funded their account.

So they get to decide the time for which they want to have the banner on the site ?

Also I have just learnt that DigitalPoint takes a cut from the amount sent. Can this be deducted when the advertiser pays ? I am not able to make PayPal payments as I have not yet attached a credit card to my PayPal account.

Yes, they decide... and no, since the advertiser pays you directly there's not a way to take a cut at that time.

Okay. Looks like I'll have to wait till I get my credit card to try out your system :)

    Thanks for the help.

    Another question.

When do I need to pay DigitalPoint its share of the revenue ? Is there a deadline before which I need to make the payment ?

I ask cause it is going to take me some time to get a credit card and add it to my PayPal, and I don't want to reject the advertising offer which I have received.

30 days from the first payment you receive.

Does this payment need to be made from my the PayPal ID that I have registered with, or can I ask someone else to make the payment on my behalf ?

It can be from a different PayPal account, but would need to be initiated from within your DP account (on Billing page).

I have just added a card to my PayPal and now can make payment to DigitalPoint :)

I have also approved the advertiser and added the code to my website. When do the ads display and when does the advertiser pay ?

Right now since no ads are displayed, I would like to add my old CPM code, which is in the format <script>...</script>. How can I make it display when there are no ads from DP ?

Have the system fall back to a URL that has your JavaScript on it.

What should be the extension of the file in the URL ? I tried .js, .html, doesn't seem to work.

The ad code is of the format <script language="javascript" src="xxx.php?46535;23456;728x90"></script>.

Can be anything... but .html would make the most sense since it's an HTML document with JS in it.

Works now, don't know what went wrong :)

BTW, I have approved the advertiser, what happens now ?

That's more or less it... the advertisers can create ads (which you approve/deny once when they create them). Once the advertiser funds their account, the ad(s) you approved will start running and deduct from their fund credit.
