    Normally the main page would have more links to it. But in your case it makes sense that a download page would have a lot of people linking directly to the downloads. If you check the backlinks with the Google toolbar that is exactly what you find.

    I just did it and Google showed no links for the home page and 2 for the download page. Keep in mind that Google doesn't show their full list of link when you search backlinks of a site.

    If you sign up for Google webmaster tools they will show you all the links they have. They can do this by page so you can see if the download page has significantly more links than the main page.

    Usually the top page tends to get higher PR. Looks like in your case the download page is getting more links to it than the top page.

    aparently one of your "inner" pages is more popular than your homepage..

    thats not bad, just not as common
