    Hello,

I am thinking about paying the 299 for a listing in Yahoo Directory but am wondering what I need to do to get my site listed on page 1 for my category which has over 3 pages.

    Any suggestions would be welcome.

    Thanks :)

I don't think a listing is guaranteed in the yahoo directory even if you pay.

No, I meant if listed can one do anything to appear on page 1 rather than page x

Well, don't expect to get a page 1 rank just by paying for your directory listing. My personal opinion is that you shouldn't really be wasting that much money on just one directory listing. You could literally spread that $300 dollars in buying backlinks, etc.

Yes I agree with YugoSlavac, It is not worth to spend 299$ for a single directory link. You can get a good backlink package. Better try for many sources don't waste it for a single directory.

I would also consider using it on a PPC campaign with yahoo in addition to perhaps buying backlinks. You would probably get better clicks through advertising on the front page than you would for the directory.

I also think that Yahoo directory doesn't worth for many niches. It depends on your website's niche. Also maybe your website doesn't approve on Yahoo directory then you have lost $299. So think about listing on Yahoo directory again.
