    Hi,

I need to know what the layers of the inside of the earth are like, so I can write a storyboard of someone going down them (completely unreal, of course).

I've done the crust, I just need to know the mantle and the core.

    Thanks very much

Yeah I tried googling it, but wikipedia was no help to me, It dosent really explain whether the mantle is a solid or liquid very clearly for example :(. I'll have a look at that now, PooPoly.

"I have found a plate boundry to enter the earth by. The earths crust is just 1% of it's total radius, about 40km thick. The temperatire will reach 500 - 1000c.

Unlike the crust, the mantle is about 2,900km thick, covering 70% of the earths radius. The temperature in the mantle goes up to 4,000c. It's mostly solid.

In the inner core, the pressuire is so high that the iron inside wont melt, even at 6,000c. This section is 1250km thick, and the innermost part of the earth.

It's time to be carried back to the surface of the earth by the convection currents caused by the heat of the core!

Is everything there at least scientifically correct ?
