question on squidoo lens

Can make a squidoo lens and direct it right to merchants page? Or should I direct it to an article?

 

yes you can direct links direct from squidoo to the merchants landing page

 

squidoo is a pure marketing tool.. unlike hubpages, you can put as many links you want.

you are limited to how many links you can put in squidoos new rules but you can still put quite a few!

 

To be frank with you, squidoo is not as powerful as it was some years back. Google and other search engines don't consider lenses to be that important nowadays. It is extremely difficult to rank high with them! This is due to the large influx of spam lenses. Too bad, but they have spoiled it for us.

 

largely true but squidoo have updated their rules recently and are actively filtering out the spam so i think the power of squidoo will improve again over the coming months

also I think you are allowed a max of 9 links/modules to one merchant in a lens

 

both are fine but I will recommend you to direct in on merchant site instead of article..

i use direct (well actually they are .htaccess redirects but amounts to the same thing!) links on http://www.squidoo.com/why-use-social-bookmarking

 

You can make as many lenses as you like. I would suggest putting 2 or 3 related articles together on one lens though, with some Video and Amazon products to brighten it up. Don't forget to put on good images too.

It really depends on what you want to do. If you want your articles to rank higher then link the squidoo to your articles. If you want your squidoo lens to be higher, then use that as the landing page.

let me make it simpler. Create a lens with some kickass content. Organize the modules and then put your click bank hop links or your other affiliate links through anchor text links. Squidoo is purely for marketing purpose so take advantage

 

How would I find video and how do I put it on my squidoo page? Also do I need to sign up for Amazon first? I created my lens this weekend and was very discourged because it says my lens is a work in progress. Which I don't know why?

 

you can embed youtube and various other videos using the video module. You dont need to signup with amazon, you can if you want to.
