Question on PPC Advertising

I have previously only injected my own CJ links in my pages via OpenAds. I was looking at some new advertisers last night and noticed most were pretty open to PPC advertising to promote their product as long as you didn't purchase a # of keywords.

With CJ is it ok to purchase PPC advertising that links directly to their website or do you always have to have a landing page? If you can link directly to them, can you put www.theircompany.com as the visible URL and your CJ URL as the actual click URL?

I am going to email the advertisers today, but was curious what others were doing.

    thanks,

^ some advertisers allow it, others don't.

Don't use their display URL, even if they don't mention it. If they have their own campaign on the same keywords, your ad could kick their own campaign off. When that happens, expect commissions to be reversed.

Generally a lot of advertisers object to it but a few are happy for you to do so and using their display URL. However be careful of PPC with the likes of Google - if you send clicks straight to the CJ affiliate link while using a different display URL you'll get into trouble.

There are several CJ Advertisers that allow direct linking and using their domain name as the display URL in adwords.

Most of the time you can find the Advertiser's Keyword / Display URL policy in the "get links" section or on their Detail page.

Go to an Advertiser's Detail page, on the right you will see a table with the types of links available. If the "keyword" link in this table is clickable then they usually have a keyword policy in place.

Sometimes there is no keyword policy in the get links area, yet it is specified in the Advertisers Detail page.

And, sometimes there is nothing specified on the details page or get links--keyword page.

When this happens, it is best to contact the Advertiser directly and ask what their policy is.
