Question on myBB Forum

    Hi All,

I have recently started using myBB and would say I am satisfied with its performance, ease of use and set up.

I have some questions regarding time settings, adsense. I couldn't get the satisfactory answers on myBB community( might be because of people visit that community rarely) , so I thought of asking the same questions here.

    1) I use the default myBB theme. I see that when I am logged in as an admin, correct time is not shown while it shows the correct time when I view forum as guest. Are the time settings different for admin and guests? (Please note that I have already changed settings under Settings > Manage, click on "Date and Time Settings")

    2) Time duration for which "Forum Shows New Posts Icon" glows is limited. How can I increase the default time duration. I couldn't locate the time settings under Admin Panel.

    3) Regarding Adsense: I want to show a 468x60 adsense banner ad on header. As I would be frequenting my forum often, I don't want to see the ads displayed when I log-in to the forum and hence don't want to unnecessary increase the impressions of my ads(which could lead to Adsense-TOS violation). Are there any settings/code through which I could accomplish this?

    4) Also can I do something so as to prevent my header adsense ads to appear on registration, welcome or error pages.

Please let me know if you require more info to answer above issues.

    1) ive never seen that problem before so i cant help,
    2) I dont understand that question
    3) there ae 2 ways, if you look on the mybb forums for threads started by tony84 you will see 1 regarding adsense and it uses globals.php, alternatively log into the admin control panel an go to templates and then edit, look for:
    header
    header_welcomeblock_guest
    header_welcomeblock_member
and put the adsense code in whereever you want them to be displayed

4)as for this, because evey page uses atleast 1 of the above i dont think you are able to prevent the ads being displayed on those pages

    1) Ensure your timezone settings are set correctly in the admin profile. Log in to your board as admin and look at the user profile options. Ensure they are correct.

Thanks ThreeGuineaWatch, Actually the setting was to be done from the userCP and not from AdminCP

Yes, this is what I said. The clue was in the part "user profile options" ;) Glad it helped.

For 4) you will need to create a plugin or alter and existing one.
