Hello, I have a question on where to put link exchange to get indexed more. Should I put links on front page or it is ok to put 1 or 2 steps from front page? I saw some websites they put links directly on front page, in this case, the site looks urly and not neatly, but, do these sites that have links on front page get indexed faster? Thanks. Jenny.
Jenny, For you it is better to have YOUR links on someone elses front page. For you site it is better to not have as many links on your front page.
Hi Jenny, I have found that by placing a single link at the bottom of the home page that says Link Exchange or whatever you want works best. You are right, placing links like that on the Home Page looks really bad so I never suggest it. Design/layout does hold some importance so you never want sloppy, unorganized information.
I always appreciate website owners that will put my link on the home page but I just create a links page for link exchanges that I link to from the home page.
I would create a separate link page and have a link from your home page to that link page. Generally, when I look for a link trade, if I don't see a link from the other site's homepage to the linkpage, I don't sign up. So I wouldn't try to bury the link page on your site. One step from the homepage is my suggestion.
