I understand I cannot put affiliate links in most articles. My question is shoud I buy a domain for my hoplinks or should I make a landing page like squidoo to send them to?
Honestly if you're just starting out I'd use a squidoo lens. Your first few landing pages will be your testing grounds so if you don't want to waste money on a few sites before getting your feet wet I'd use the squidoo lens, but that's just me.
If you're getting serious with affiliate marketing, and you expect to life out of this someday you shloud buy your own domain and make a landing page, anyway it's an investment, and the more professional the landing page looks you'll have a higher change of being succesful and make money. You can set up multiple landing pages with different text and content and to see which one converts the best.
I'm happy to host your landing pages if they promote my product and you're not yet sure how to buy hosting etc. More flexible than Squidoo if you know how to make pages.
Maybe get a free blogger blog to send people to first before a domain name. Once you know the product is a winner then get a domain name and redirect your links perhaps. If you know it is a winner though I would suggest getting a domain name.
The best thing is if you can make a real site on a "real" domain, preferrably wordpress, a good pre-selling "review" site. Those are the sites which convert best for me. The other kinds are simple redirects to vendor page..you get a domain and do whats called a "PHP redirect" from the domain to the vendor page. I never used squidoo, weebly etc. for this but i know people use it too. I just prefer my own domains
