Hi, I was just wondering if somebody could help me understand why I received an infraction at "http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=2279528#post16744819". It was someone making a somewhat vague job post and I explained that I would be interested and that I'd like more details and that I will send a PM. Is there something I am missing? Thank you!
If you are interested and want to PM then just PM all details. There is no need to say this in post. Check my given url and read that FAQ carefully. DON.
Your post was borderline. It seems to be you were asking for more details which is something that could have benefited everyone and thus not be worthy of an infraction. The rule is that if you want to reply by PM, then just do it and don't make a post announcing it. Since you posted that you were sending a PM, that is why you got an infraction. It is not a big deal, its like a warning and now you know.
Ahh, well. I got another infraction I feel like I am being targeted or something. Nearly every post under buy/sell are saying something along the lines of PM ME(which I don't really like)! Then I make one post that said something like "So it's $10 for $10 minutes of work?" and then said to count me in. Then got another infraction for that, plus it doesn't even show any feedback in the infraction on what it was for. I think I'm just not going to post anymore and ONLY do private messages. Then I don't have to worry about getting banned either. But anyways, sounds like I'm compliaining now so I'll stop But you'd think posting would be what forums are all about.
You were probably questioning something that was obvious. Your questions have to be legitimate and not answered already. There is nothing wrong with posting, you just have to read the post while writing yourself and apply common sense before making it go live.
If you want to apply for a position you do that via private message. Use the thread for questions and feedback. Additionally the OP was patently trying to scam an affiliate program and the thread was deleted. Anyone "signing up" to help with the scam is likely to also get an infraction. Affiliate programs will only continue to be a win::win if promoters are honest and play be the rules. This is a "white hat" forum and don't encourage scamming.
I will only be PM'ing message now for the most part. But I don't really understand it though. Like why don't they just disable posting in the services section? As for the affiliate programs and scams, I don't think a lot of those scammers advertise that it's a scam so I don't think that would make sense to give an infraction to someone for inquiring. I've never signed up or inquired about anything unethical myself.
