Question on inbound links ..

    Hi,

I've done a bit of link building for one of my websites (www.yourlinkslibrary.com) ... when I search google for "yourlinkslibrary" or "www.yourlinkslibrary.com" it shows that google picked up about 20 of the links. However; when I search for "link:www.yourlinkslibrary.com" it gives 0 results. Any body knows what might be going on ?

Any help will be greatly appreciated .. :)

    Thanks

Looks like you may be in the supplemental index, and not yet in the main one. Keep link building, it takes some time...

    Thanks for the response,

What is the supplemental index? And how can I know if the website is still in the supplemental index and not in the main one ?

The website is 10 days old and has no PR info .. :) so I am expecting some thing like this to happen .. :)

The supplemental index, from what I understand, is where google puts less important sites, and and punished sites (for dup content, blackhat techniques, ect.)

However in your case, its simple because the website is so young. To find out if pages are indexed, use Google Webmaster Tools:
    http://www.google.com/webmasters/start/

Keep link building and you'll make it in :)

Google might be picking you because your keyword perfectly matches with the URL. However, your links might not have been indexed as your website is so new. Do wait for some time and keep linking.

Well its nothing to be worried that is the status show by google as snapshot nothing to be worried. And many times snapshot is the only sample or just at few percent of the total. no need to worry about that. Even I have seen that many sites with thousand of links showing only 100 to 200 links in that.
