One of my websites went down for a half day and now when I do a search for site.com in google, its not the #1 anymore its like # 7. Did I do something wrong? Or was it cause my server went down for the half day? How do I get it back up?? Thanks Jason
It's prob cos your site went down, or it's just the Google dance, give it time nothing to worry about if your site is strong and established.
Referring back to the orginal question, seeings dana77 did a bit of hijacking I would say that it might not be to do with your site being down. I was page 1 for one of my major keywords and last week and then I found my site on page 4 last week! The latest update was the biggest for a while. I am hoping things sort themselves out soon as I put a lot of work ino that position.
Thanks for the replies. And conker, sorry to hear about that. But I know my high ranked keywords always fluctuate, but not my site.com. That shouldnt jump around, i mean who can beat site.com when im the real site.com? haha you get what im sayin?
maybe the site being down is one of the cause... you may consider also, you might be overrun by your competitors due to downing of your site.
I dont think this was cause of your site went down as my site used to go down a couple of times in a week and its ranking never decreased. So There can be any other reason for it
I hear what you are saying and it is weird how it could be possible. But I think you may be concerning yourself with something that only really effects big brands. Unless of course you are Jeff Bezoz and your concerned about the effect on your amazon site...hehehe
