Hi.. I normally buy all the pictures for my customers from Stock websites, and I get like 4000x3000 resolution. I normally prefer high resolution always. But I have a question. Lets say, I have to make a bg of 1920x800 . Then I bought one and cropped the required area from photoshop . But here is the main problem / How can I optimize the JPG saving ? I mean, when I do this, it gets around 1-2mb fr that sitebg file, while I need something in between 100-150KB. Whats the solution ?
In Photoshop you have jpg file compression or quality tools on save as a new file. Play with those settings until you achieve the best balance between file size (your stated goal) and acceptable quality (which will go down as you compress more). HTH
File > Save for the Web You will be able to choose between Low, Med, High and Max image optimisation and it will show the file size before you save it so you can try the different settings to see which one suits your purpose best.
