I am starting my own affiliate program, I will basically be paying a certain amount per signup to one of my sites but I have a question.

How do you prevent system abuse, example if I pay $.50 per person who registers to my site by giving their name, email etc how do I prevent webmasters from generating fake profiles.

    A good example is:

a dating site that pays for every time that somebody registeres to the site and creates a profile.

How can they prevent webmasters from creating fake profiles, how do they verify that the person is a real human.

half the time they can't stop them.
Check for IP, similar style email addresses and maybe do an activation thing where they have to activate the account so it's hard for a bot to do it AND THEN send another activation link to the email address 31 days later before you pay the affiliate.
