Question for those using BANS. Has google penalized bans sites?

I've read a few random posts that google has penalized bans sites, have you noticed it? I realize that without useful content/seo/etc. it won't rank. Overall, how have your sites been doing?

I've got a couple domains that get a modest amount of type in traffic and i've been considering getting bans to take advantage of it. Normally i build my sites using rss feeds, but it takes a fair amount of time to do that, and at the moment, i'm short on time. I'd like to get them up quickly and easily.

So for those of you with bans, in my situation would you recommend it?

Google has not penalized ban sites but most of the sites are gone into supplement results due to content duplication.

We must have to add value to our affiliate website to rank good on search engines else its very hard now a day to get any good ranking for competitive keyword.
I will advice you to create a single quality, original content site which will help you in long run..

I wouldn't recommend it if you're strapped for time and cannot make the effort to build a real site with oodles of original, compelling content and obtain good quality backlinks. The best approach these days is to do a WordPress/BANS integration. There's a ton of information about this in the BANS forum.

That said, BANS sites seem to be a darling of Yahoo. Many BANS stores get little traffic from Google, but clean up on Yahoo. MSN likes them, too. Backlinks from sites ranking high on Yahoo will get you there. And, Yahoo traffic converts well, in my experience.

Content really doesn't seem to matter with the latest round of deindexing by Google. I done my share of content creation, web marketing, etc and for some reason my BANS stores were still deindexed, when none of my other sites had any issue. I think they actually were searching out for that script, to take down all the spammers and a lot of honest affiliates were caught up in the cross fire.

I'm not sore about it, just a heads up, make sure it's a unique template, NOTHING offered directly by the team at BANS.

That's why the WordPress/BANS integration is preferable. On the other hand, some of my early, basically out of the box, BANS stores that are a little thin on content are still kicking on Google. Seems to me deindexing has been a random selection. Paradoxically, one of my best performers has been deindexed, but got most of it's traffic from Yahoo. The Google loss was minimal.

Thanks for that information. I wasn't aware that bans worked with wordpress now. Or do you mean as a subdomain/subfolder? That would be great since i normally use wordpress.

My original idea was just to get something up quick to take advantage of the type in traffic that i get. I'm not against building a good content rich site, and prefer to do that. I just thought maybe it would speed up the process.

I tried looking at the bans forum, but i guess it's closed to people that haven't bought bans. Guess i'll have to do a little more research. Thanks again!

No, there are a bunch of WordPress/BANS integrations now, some free. But you have to purchase BANS, of course. You can do so through the link in my sig. Are you an EPN affiliate? If not, I would recommend that you get approved by EPN before buying BANS. You can pm me for examples of WP integrated with BANS.

@ webtarded - if you want to dip your toe in the EPN water without spending a cent, try my script - TWP Auctions.
You can use it to pull in EPN auctions, it works with WordPress, and it's FREE.
