Question for those successful in affiliate marketing

Need some advice from gurus who are successful in affiliate marketing.

I have two websites currently that have a mixture of affiliate ads and adsense. The number of ads are about equal. Over 3months now, my revenue is 90%+ from adsense. I had hoped to get more revenue from affiliate programs actually.

    1) The first question is should I commit more and better ad space to adsense since my site seems to get more adsense revenue?

    or

2)Should I try to figure out why the site isn't getting more conversions on the affiliate program and improve on it?

Point to note is my site doesn't receive high traffic so every click/$ counts. Any advice?? Thanks in advance.

Well you lack of conversion are due to your ineffective marketing techniques! You need to concentrate on marketing your product more, whether free ad or paid ad. If you want to go the free route, then you should write article, forums post, you tube video or even twitter.

For paid, you can do ppc, classified ads " usfreeads.com", Or even e zine ads " solo ads, but make sure its targeted!

    Hope this helps!

Hi jonathanfigaro, thanks for the tips. Most of my traffic are from search engines, haven't done any marketing yet. Low on budget so most likely choosing the free route. Thanks again

The maximum number of Adsense ads you can have are 3 per page

If you are thinking about increasing the Adsense space by changing the size of the ads that's something you can do

But why mess with success? Obviously your ad size and placement is working for you

I'd work on content to get the affiliate sales. For instance, do reviews of the products you are promoting

The key to success is traffics. Use articles, RSS Feeds, Web 2.0, SEO etc to drive free traffics to your site.

are the ads that adsense is placing on your site in the same niche as the affiliate links you are selling? People are obviously interested in the category of ads that adsense is placing on your sites, make sure that your affiliate links are in the same arena. In other words, if all your adsense ads are about Soap you probably don't want to have affiliate programs for "live naturally without soap" ebook.. :)

I've so far tried a few different placements and ad sizes. ctr to me is alright considering the small amount of traffic. its just the affiliate side thats what i'm hoping to improve as well.

anyway rite now i'm considering a few changes and working on getting more traffic. thanks for tips.
