Question for seo pros: no more visit from google since a maintenance page

    Hi,

Since two weeks, I installed on my site a maintenance page and since that time, when I look at my stats I see that Google bot does not come crawl my site and it is no longer listed on its main keywords (the site is not on the first 10 pages). Yet when I write "site: www.mydomain.com", I still see that my site has more than a thousand page listed on Google.

My question is: is it that when I put content on my site, google bot will come back crawl my site or is it that my site is penalized forever?

    Thank you.

Check on your Google webmaster tools, it might a problem with your robots.txt .. or worse, Google just stop indexing your site ...

Yah, a maintenance page shouldn't do any harm to your site. There's gotta to be something else that goes wrong. Check your robots.txt and meta data from your website and make sure there is nothing that prevents Google from crawl your site.

I agree, Google Webmasters is the answer. Submit a fresh sitemap.xml file there.

Use unique content for increasing Google ranking. Also try to collect quality backlinks for your website

Ummm...guys he answered it on Apr 17th 2011...the plugin added a no follow/no index to the header of his pages. Good catch...always check the source and make sure the pages are indexed and followed.
