I have had a few requests over the last few months from people from non-english countries. They have inquired about purchasing resell rights to sell in their native language within their native country. Just wondering if any fellow publishers have had any of these requests? I was also looking for thoughts or opinions regarding actually doing it.
The Spanish/Latin American market is huge, you should consider a spanish version of your products rather than granting this people resell rights, translate your products to spanish and sell it yourself.
I haven't had any requests, but if Clickbank think it's worth internationalizing to get into these markets, it probably is. http://www.google.com/insights/search - shows international search volumes for various countries. Try "lose weight" for example. Surprisingly, Trinidad and Tobago is the highest regional interest.
Hey Greg, Someone at Warrior Forum said I should translate one of my health products into Spanish. I haven't had anyone approach me though. Personally I would never sell resell rights to my product. I'd be willing to do a licensing deal, where they get to translate the product and sell it in their own market but I'd be looking for ongoing royalties. Mind you, I wonder why these people approaching you do not just create their own product? It's hardly as if your English language book is a brand they can capitalise on in their own market - it will probably be unknown. Perhaps they just don't want to go about making their own product and prefer the convenience of yours....perhaps you should just sell resell rights to them then.... Do they want your branding too?
I have entertained the thought of translating into spanish. This would just be a licensing deal. They would get no branding or support. It would basically just be a legal right to re-write my book into their language and market it in their country. The guide that has had now 2 request is my www.SimpleHeaters.com product. The country in question is Brazil. The language there is Portuguese and I don't think it would have any affect on future sales of the product either through direct means or through affiliate sales. I'm not sure which way I am leaning. I guess the right amount of money will make the choice easier.
We had requests from people from German countries. We talked everthing related to the cooperation at the begining, but when we asked them to pay resell rights cost, they disappeared without any reply. So we guess they are liars. You may confuse WHY. We found there are many publishers who received these kinds of requests. Most of the publishers sell software products. Firstly they asked us to give them the serial number to test our software, then we sent. Secondly we started to discuss how to do the business. Thirdly when we asked them to pay resell rights cost, they disappeared. So if you receive the request again, please ignore that. It is a waste of time.
