Is .com the most widely used in every country? When you go to a website, do you usually type in .com or your country's ending like .JP or .CO.UK.
For Romania my impression is this: anyone who want local audience is using .ro, although more expensive than .com. Companies who are searching for international clients are building .com sites, in English, of course, and so do sites in Romanian but who are targeting the Romanian diaspora. A company website with text in Romanian and with .com seems somehow cheap. Bloggers, casual users are taking whatever .com, .net they can find because is so much easier to buy online an international not a Romanian domain name.
type in? lol thats funny japan is mainly search based and from what i see all extensions are in usefrom .com to .jp hope that helps
Hello, Depend, maybe in some countries are more popular local domains, but I hope .com is the most popular... Best
I think you'd be surprised how little .coms are used around the world. I'm in Canada and although there are tons of .com names advertised here, I'd say there's just as many .ca names commonly advertised. As with most (all?) country coded TLDs the rules to register and use a ccTLD are always specific to that country. When .coms came around people in the US thought it was (and some still do) the "American" extension.
I just realized I didn't really answer your question. In Canada, .ca is hugely popular and widely used. .com as well.
Is that an accurate list? It's suprising that .org is so popular. As well as .de and .jp. .Net is not as popular as I thought.
