Question for google seo buffs

I have 4 pet sites, all linking to eachother in one way or another, either with navigation menu links, or links on my sidebar.

From google's perspective should I be doing this, or should I keep each of my own sites free of other site linking throughout my network? Hope this is easy to understand, lol its early.

a couple of same site links does not hurt you, if you start heavily interlinking thats when google starts to penalize you. Of course if you have your sites on different C class networks then google cant tell that each site belongs to the same person.

I mainly just have the links on each sidebar pointing to my other sites, along with other relevant pet links. Mainly for pr to help pull up my developing sites.

    Pesonally I would not interlink,
but have a single link on the index
page of each for your anchor text,
assuming that the site all sell the same stuff.
    OR
Pick your best site and make all the others point to it
    witha link on every page.
After all what is the point to competing with yourself.
Each of these sites I would then focus on a best selling product, such as dry food, and optimise them not for the pet market, but for the one of product category

hey there. there is nothing much wrong with it. Just dont overuse it. interlink within your sites. again do this responsible with the full url names. these will count as backlinks as well but have a ceiling with google of about 15% of total backlink weight.....

    hope that helps..

Never interlink / reciprocal link. build portals and develop traffic then people back link and PR and Serps grow. Remember all your pages on a site are individual websites so treat them as such.

And if you use Google ads on them and or access them from same computer and us Google. Then Google knows you own both sites.

There are many ways to tell whom owns sites or just admins them. Google tool bar helps track as well. cookies, whois, etc., IP location and provider. Class C changing is good idea but will not completely stop people or websites from finding you own all interlinked sites.

Best Practice is to just build each site make them unique and get back links through sound practices and you will rise.

    Best of luck.
