You said: "As far as I know these are the only men recorded in history who died by torture when all they had to do is say,"Okay I was lying, my bad." Are you really saying there was only two people in history that died by torture that just had to say they were lying? Are you really saying that?
This guys answer The cross in its original symbolism is of pagan origin and represented the opening of the female womb and was a symbol of sexual power. For this reason I choose not to use it or follow many of the other so called "Christian" festivals - the only "festival" Christ set up was the communion supper, and baptism. Much of this occurred in the apostasy Paul warned would come into the church bringing in numerous evils and pagan symbols - e.g. the peak hat on top of the bishops is from the fish god dagon, the staff each "bishop" carries is a lightening rod - and has absolutely nothing to do with real Christianity, numerous symbols found in many churches are pagan symbols. e.g. Easter was a pagan festival and is even mention as such in the Old Testament e.g. 25th December - Birth of the Sun God Tamuz Please don't confuse real Christianity with this false apostatized version which mixed paganism and Christianity to produce a hybrid religion acceptable to the masses. It was a wrong answer but, you have the right answer now. The easter and christmas part is right.
I never told that his answer was right or not. I just wanted to show the difference between answering question. That is why I queted both of your answers . Your answer and his answer. I dont get what is the problem with my sig ?? Is there any rule that religouse links in sigs not allowed ? What my sig have to do with the question ? ooh I got what made you answer that way ..
Of course I'm not saying that. I said recorded in history. I don't know any recorded history that testifies to men dying by torture for saying they saw something they did not see. Or men dying by torture for saying they saw something, and had a chance to say they didn't see it, and still died anyway. unless there capture was going to kill them anyway. Or their life was oppressed and this was for the cause because they had no good life available. The diciples where not in slavery or anything they could have said okay I'll stop saying this and went on to live life wherever they wanted.
Didn't the Jews deny Jesus and torture him on a cross according to your teachings? Isn't that denying a prophet, or in your case denying God?
No and no. You really should think of more difficult questions if you are going to attempt to demonstrate that asking for straight forward answers is unreasonable.
K - I want to step out of my apatheistic form for a moment and throw some things. 1. This topic went to hell in a hand basket with attacks on Muslims and Christians. The real point was lost. 2. I don't celebrate human sacrifice - to do so is weird, wrong, and just really morally messed up. 3. As far as my research, the Jewish god, the Christain god, and the Muslim god all stem from the same source - therefore are anciently the exact same idea of a monotheistic jerk who likes to annihilate sodomites. As far as I can see, all three groups are still in support of annihilation of Sodom. And apparently also all modern day references I have vaguely alluded to. 4. All three have oppressed women - there is no way around that. All three have. To argue which one did less is to lessen women's suffrage that is still going on to day. Get over it and realize all three have really bad track records. Really really really bad track records. 5. Stop accusing Atheists of all the crimes and trying to attribute your own religions failures to those who did not "Follow god the right way". Unless some leader (Stalin and Mao, yes, but they were users and understood the threat religion would bring their own regime, however I can bet you my left pinkie finger nail clipping that had they started a cult church they would have made everyone join it). And don't be grouping Apatheist with Atheist. 6. For the love of chowder and peas, will you stop quoting and plagiarizing entire websites? It indicates a mind that cannot create thought and then write thought independent of crutches - and shows that you can't even begin to make your own argument. I could quote anything and everything on the net - but I do not - because my brain happens to be somewhat capable of holding together thoughts and ideas and then translating them to words through my fingers upon a text box and then hitting submit. 7. Burning talking bushes speak of massive blunt force trauma to the head, or poisoned wine consumption. 8. Can't we all just... get along... without the ad-hominem attacks and the instinctive devolution to flinging our own feces at each other? Jebus, some of you claim not to be from primates yet act like it.
Yes! HE said HE would punish them for that. Not change HIS people. GOD had plenty of time to tell those same prophets that HE SENT to Israel what HE would do. At no time did HE ever say HE would turn on them. He warned them for their wrong doings. But never for tainting the scriptures. Why would HE not tell them of this, HE told them of everything else.
That's not punishment, that's betrayel. HE warned them through the prophets about evrything HE would do. They all happened. GOD told us what would be happening in the world at this time, and what would be going on in Israel at this time. That's how we know these are the last days. To be aware of when time is getting closer for judgment day you must pay attention to Israel. Those things are in the Bible not the quran. He then said, after HIS wrath HE would give Israel their land back in the last days. HE did that. HE made a detailed list about all the countries that would be against Israel. HE gave HIS Word HE would lead them to victory after victory. We can still keep up with the accuracy of predictions today. Nothing shows that HE left Israel and chose another. He said HE would never leave them, but HE would pour out HIS wrath on them and all will know that HE is GOD. The quran has no predictions of itself. If GOD changed HIS people, HE would have given them the same attention as the first. islam would have a set line of preists detailed instructions on how to build HIS dwelling place. Specific Holy days to celebrate the victories HE lead HIS people to. and predictions of how HE was going to go about raising you up as a people. and much more The Bible has all of these things for Israel and we can see they are true.
No Ckrismoney. Denying prophets from God is betrayal, which is exactly what the Jews did and why God changed his covenant to the Arabs.
According to YAHWEH it's not betrayel, but the worst mistake other than betrayel. If GOD changed HIS people, HE would have given them the same attention as the first. islam would have a set line of preists ( YAHWEH chose the Levites ) detailed instructions on how to build HIS dwelling place. ( GOD gave specific instructions on how to build HIS dwelling place.) Specific Holy Days to celebrate the victories HE lead HIS people to. ( GOD gave the Jews Holy Days according to the things HE did for them.) And predictions of how HE was going to go about raising you up as a people. and much more The Bible has all of these things for Israel and we can see they are true. Why does GOD not pay the same attention to Arabs. They can just put the quran in any order they chose. No preists, no instructions for HIS temple, Arabs can just build what they want. No prediction of what GOD will do and when. It can't be the same GOD. He wouldn't settle for less like that.
He has given them more attention than the first. We have a religion of 1.8 billion people. What do the Jews have? 6 million who follow Judaism and a state that most of the world hates? Oh and i have said this a millon times. God gave inch perfect instructions for Abraham to build the Kaaba in Mecca

Source URL: http://www.aish.com/spirituality/philosophy/Why_Dont_Jews_Believe_In_Jesus$.asp This is what I got from the Cached page since actual page is not accessible! 5) CHRISTIANITY CONTRADICTS JEWISH THEOLOGY The following theological points apply primarily to the Roman Catholic Church, the largest Christian denomination. A. GOD AS THREE? The Catholic idea of Trinity breaks God into three separate beings: The Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost (Matthew 28:19). Contrast this to the Shema, the basis of Jewish belief: "Hear O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is ONE" (Deut. 6:4). Jews declare the Shema every day, while writing it on doorposts (Mezuzah), and binding it to the hand and head (Tefillin). This statement of God's One-ness is the first words a Jewish child is taught to say, and the last words uttered before a Jew dies. In Jewish law, worship of a three-part god is considered idolatry -- one of the three cardinal sins that a Jew should rather give up his life than transgress. This explains why during the Inquisitions and throughout history, Jews gave up their lives rather than convert. B. MAN AS GOD? Roman Catholics believe that God came down to earth in human form, as Jesus said: "I and the Father are one" (John 10:30). Maimonides devotes most of the "Guide for the Perplexed" to the fundamental idea that God is incorporeal, meaning that He assumes no physical form. God is Eternal, above time. He is Infinite, beyond space. He cannot be born, and cannot die. Saying that God assumes human form makes God small, diminishing both His unity and His divinity. As the Torah says: "God is not a mortal" (Numbers 23:19). Judaism says that the Messiah will be born of human parents, and possess normal physical attributes like other people. He will not be a demi-god, and will not possess supernatural qualities. In fact, an individual is alive in every generation with the capacity to step into the role of the Messiah. (see Maimonides - Laws of Kings 11:3) C. INTERMEDIARY FOR PRAYER? The Catholic belief is that prayer must be directed through an intermediary -- i.e. confessing one's sins to a priest. Jesus himself is an intermediary, as Jesus said: "No man cometh unto the Father but by me." In Judaism, prayer is a totally private matter, between each individual and God. As the Bible says: "God is near to all who call unto Him" (Psalms 145:18). Further, the Ten Commandments state: "You shall have no other gods BEFORE ME," meaning that it is forbidden to set up a mediator between God and man. (see Maimonides - Laws of Idolatry ch. 1) D. INVOLVEMENT IN THE PHYSICAL WORLD Catholic doctrine often treats the physical world as an evil to be avoided. Mary, the holiest woman, is portrayed as a virgin. Priests and nuns are celibate. And monasteries are in remote, secluded locations. By contrast, Judaism believes that God created the physical world not to frustrate us, but for our pleasure. Jewish spirituality comes through grappling with the mundane world in a way that uplifts and elevates. Sex in the proper context is one of the holiest acts we can perform. The Talmud says if a person has the opportunity to taste a new fruit and refuses to do so, he will have to account for that in the World to Come. Jewish rabbinical schools teach how to live amidst the bustle of commercial activity. Jews don't retreat from life, we elevate it.
