Hey, What is the difference between doggy and doggie? Is it the same? I am opening online dog store(shipping only usa) and shall use "doggie" instead of dog. Do americans often say doggie instead of dog? Does it sound kind of sweet? or does it sound strange? Thanks in advance! Laura
Doggie/doggy is definitely a "cute" way of saying dog, and is widely used here in the US. "Doggie Store" is a lot better than "dog store" and appeals to the type of people that obsess over dogs. The latter sounds too boring. Hope that helps!!
Wow - what United States do you live in? Because if it were America, you wouldn't have said the above statement! You seriously aren't familiar with the term "doggie" or am I reading your reply wrong?????? No disrespect...but "doggie" is as American as "baseball" and "apple pie" !!
