    if you could go to a site and use it to promote your designs and talent without the cost of having hosting or domain with your own website, would you use the website?

    Maybe; there's already a few sites like that though: DeviantArt, Customize.org, etc.

    I'm not too taken on the idea. Reading what I have on here, creating your own space is a great step to generating a name for yourself.

    i would always go for my own website using own webspace to proofe that I'm really able to set up websites and handle them

    Unsure what you really mean, do you mean to use the site to promote the designers site, or the designer doesn't have their own website at all.

    I think the vast majority of designers would agree with me that you need your own website as a marketing tool, well worth the cost of domain and hosting.

    However I think any free opportunity to promote the services would generally be welcomed depending on the quality of the site.
