I know that you can setup custom channels. Is there a way for your code to be automatically tracked by the URL? I don't feel like constantly logging in to my Adsense account to get an adcode for the url, when I can just have it track by the URL the ad is being displayed on.

Yes, url tracking is available now..
Just login to adsense account to find url tracking..

No need to add any code,,, Just enter url you want to track. Works great for me.

    however
keep in mind that channels are for ADVERTISERS as well
by using URL you exclude targetable channels for advertisers - a feature G offers since months to advertisers ( may be to certain advertisers only )

precise channel setup helps to REALLY optimize your adsense - hence if you strive for a 2 digit generic/organic CTR then a full set of complex channels will help substantially to break the 3-5% ctr BARRIERS MOST are stuck within
